The Heart of the Buddha a Finalist in ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Awards

iThe Heart of the Buddha is among the finalists for ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Awards, in the category of Fiction-- Multicultural. Results will be announced at the BookExpo America, in New York City, on May 25, 2010.

In 2011, an Indian publisher, Timeless Art Book Studio, offered to re-publish The Heart of the Buddha for distribution in the Indian subcontinent, which includes India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan! It is set for release at the end of 2011. Hitherto, readers in this part of the world could only get the book from online bookstores. I am very gratified that my novel about Bhutan is finally going home to the readers in Bhutan!

Hi Aunty Elsie, I'm Ching, Min Chee and Doris' daughter. I just finished reading 'The Heart of the Buddha' and I must tell you I couldn't put the book down till the end! The plot is so captivating, the way you described Bhutan's landscape together with the romantic and spiritual storyline, makes me want to visit Bhutan too! Meanwhile, I'm trying to get hold of 'Hui Gui' and can't wait for your next book on Sarawak :)
Hello Ching,
So glad to hear from you and know you liked the novel The Heart of the Buddha. I am sorry it took me so long to respond to your comment. There were some problems with comments posted in my blog and your kind and encouraging comment just got waylaid, and I missed reading it till now. Have you been able to get a copy of Hui Gui? It is available on www.amazon.com, but if you haven't received it yet, I'll mail you a copy. Please let me know. Give my warm regards to your parents, uncles and aunts, and your grandparents, my Uncle Kow Lip and Auntie Sze Jin.
I'm indeed working on my novel on Sarawak. Hope to return to Sarawak with the novel when it's published, some day.
Elsie
