The Tunnel, carved out by Bosnians in Sarajevo, was also called the Tunnel of Hope, through which residents of Sarajevo were smuggled out from the city Sarajevo during its seige by Serbian forces from April, 1992 to February, 1996, the longest seige in modern warfare.
